Novag Sapphire x Mephisto Academy

Mephisto Academy traz consigo um forte programa. Escrito por Ed Schroder possui características diferenciadas, tais como, desenvolvimento das peças, conhecimento de xadrez que o credencia em uma boa máquina. Seu desenho não chega a ser enquadrado como portátil, mas também não exagera no tamanho, portanto confortável para jogar. 
Jogando de pretas, chegou a ficar em posição ganhadora em um dos jogos. Neste jogo que me reporto, Sapphire que em tese tem um processador mais forte não conseguiu ajeitar seu jogo e se não fosse o erro do Academy ao final, teria perdido a partida. Por erro de digitação, não tenho a partida completa, mas creio que o leitor terá uma ideia da força do Academy. Notar a precisão dos lances das pretas em uma das partidas atingiu aproximadamente 50% de acerto.
Lembrar que o Academy leva um processador 65C02 - 4 Mhz, ponderando no máximo 6 plys ao passo que Sapphire leva o processador H8/325 (HD6433258) mais moderno para época, embora também sendo de 8 bits. Sapphire no meio do jogo para o final chegou a ponderar 9 plys, que em última análise significa 4 lances a frente. Fotos extraídas de: computer infoPor enquanto a vantagem é do Sapphire.
